COMMUNITY SERVICE

STUDENTS SOCIAL SERVICE PROGRAM

Oxford International students spend a great deal of their school year experiencing the social, economic and cultural reality of our country. They witness the level of poverty and physical conditions endured by members of the community. OIS students contribute with their social service activities to the improvement of the quality of living of the less privileged citizens. The charitable work allows youngsters to internalize the existence of another world, where people are unaware of the privileges and opportunities available in our socio-economic system.

On that premise, our junior and senior students engage in a Student Social Service program. It takes place during the school year and the Ministry of Education requires it for graduation. The community work is fundamental to the education of future generations; our education is based on humanistic principles and the knowledge of national and international state of affairs. The objective of any educational project is to raise young citizens with a strong social commitment and moral values.

COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMITTEE

OIS has established a Community Service Committee to promote within the teaching staff and student body the values of solidarity and cooperation; every member of the school community can participate through donations in kind or with voluntary work. The beneficiaries of our efforts are low-income communities with primary needs.
