Admission Procedure

Dear Prospective Parents and Families:
Oxford International School welcomes you to the Admission section. Here you will find information about our application form and fees.
Admission to OIS is open to students of a variety of backgrounds, and with a diversity of learning styles depending on availability of space.
Although we provide some English-language support, students admitted to OIS from 1st grade and above, must demonstrate proficiency in the English language or the potential to become proficient.
Admissions Procedure
• Fill out a pre-admission form
• Pay a non-refundable application fee
• Schedule time and date for admission tests
• Present requested documents according to applicants grade
Preschool to 1st grade
• $50.00 non refundable application fee
• Test (DIAL 3)
2nd to 11h grade
• $75.00 non refundable application fee
• Proficiency tests in Spanish, English and Math
OIS will not accept students from other schools in 12th grade.
Placement in grade levels will be by age on April 1 of the intended academic year as follows:
PK3 3 by April 1, PK4 4 by April 1, Kindergarten 5 by April 1 and so forth.
Provide the following documents along with the pre-admission form:
Preschool to 1st grade
a. Birth certificate
b. 2 pictures, passport or ID size
c. Medical records signed by a pediatrician
2nd to 11th grade
a. Birth certificate
b. 2 pictures passport size
c. Medical record signed by a pediatrician
d. Letter of good behavior from previous school
e. Letters of recommendations (at least two)
f. Transcripts from previous school (s)
Additional requirements for foreigners
All requirements listed above and, transcripts validated by Panama`s Embassy or Consulate in the student`s country of origin, by the Ministry of External Affairs in Panama City, and by the Ministry of Education in Panama. The Ministry of Education will review all documents and will determine the grade level the students can be enrolled into. In addition, it will make specific suggestions in regards to pending subjects (Middle and High School only)
Once the admissions committee has reviewed the admission tests and all the documents presented the applicant will be notified of acceptance by e-mail.
Upon acceptance, parents will pay the registration fees and sign an agreement contract with OIS which includes:
a. Recommendations from evaluators
b. School Expectations
c. Uniform Code
d. Social Service (for 11th and 12th grade students)
